Luxury Tour of the Blue Mountains

Tour itinerary and highlights:

  • Private luxury touring
  • Calmsley Hill Farm & Morning Tea
  • Complete circle loop of the Blue Mountains National Park
  • Short walks to explore the remote regions with stunning views
  • Luxurious lunch at Echoes Restaurant

The Blue Mountains National Park is one of seven national parks that make up the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. This wonderland of sandstone outcrops, deep ravines and hazy blue eucalypt forests boasts luxury retreats and stunning views. Today your guide will take you off the beaten track to visit remote lookout locations and discuss the history, flora and fauna of this magnificent region.

7.30AM Depart from the hotel with AEA Luxury Tours. Our first stop of the day is at Calmsley Hill, a working farm also home to Kangaroo, Emu, Wombat and Koala. Enjoy morning tea and time to wander at leisure.

From Calmsley Hill we continue to ascend the Blue Mountains via the highway. We will visit one of a range of stunning outlooks of the Jamison Valley seeing beautiful vistas. Where possible this will be away from the crowds of tours that visit the mountains each day with other operators, thus our guests will enjoy a stress and hurry free environment taking in the views and information imparted by their guide.

Continuing, we arrive at Eaglehawk Lookout, a remote lookout points away from the crowds for views of the famous 3 Sisters. Whilst the Blue Mountains features so much more than this natural attraction you can’t help but admire the unquestionable beauty of this amazing rock formation. The character of the Three Sisters changes throughout the day and throughout the seasons as the sunlight brings out the magnificent colours. Here your guide will discuss the legends behind this famous rock formation and time available for you to take some great photos

Our lunch destination is Echoes Restaurant, perched at the absolute edge of the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park, with views of mountains, cliff edges and lush rainforest valleys right through the Jamison Valley to Mittagong, with views up to 80 kilometres away.

With this stunning backdrop, we enjoy a 2-course lunch with glass of beer, wine or soft drink per person.

After lunch we visit Govetts Leap, one of the most famous lookouts in Australia. The magnificent waterfall drops a whopping 180m to the base of the cliff. Our last stop at the Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens where there’s time for a short inspection of the flora including the ancient Wollemi Pine (Wollemia Nobilis).

From here we commence our return to the city after a complete day of experiences, arriving at your hotel at approximately 4.30pm.

Inclusions: Hotel pickup and drop off, private touring as per itinerary, Calmsley Hill Admission & Morning tea, 2 course Echoes lunch with 1 glass of beer, wine or soft drink per person, national park fee and bottled water on board and glass of sparkling wine or orange juice.

Blue Mountains Luxury Touring with AEA Luxury Tours

A Blue Mountains luxury day with AEA Luxury Tours is designed for travellers seeking a seamless, informative, and comfortable way to explore one of Australia’s most celebrated regions. Our Blue Mountains private tour offers an in-depth experience that blends nature, history, and relaxation in a refined itinerary crafted for discerning guests.

This experience combines well-paced sightseeing with thoughtful inclusions, from farm encounters to a fine lunch with panoramic views. Travellers enjoy a full-circle loop of the mountains, visiting both well-known icons and remote viewpoints rarely reached by large groups.

Why Private Over Shared (Comfort, Pace, Crowds)

Choosing a private Blue Mountains day trip ensures comfort and flexibility that shared tours often lack. Our guests appreciate the relaxed schedule, smaller group size, and personalised commentary that come from travelling privately or in an intimate group setting.

A Blue Mountains private tour allows for adjustments in timing and stops based on guests’ interests, photo preferences, or weather conditions. Instead of rushing through crowded lookouts, the pace allows ample time to enjoy each location without large tour groups.

Vehicles are spacious, air-conditioned, and designed for comfort, accommodating a limited number of guests. This means better visibility, easier access, and a quieter experience throughout the journey. For many travellers, the difference between a large coach tour and a small, private group is the difference between simply visiting the Blue Mountains and truly experiencing them.

Sample Timings (Hotel Pickup Windows by Area)

The day begins between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM, with hotel pick-ups across central Sydney. Guests staying in areas such as the Sydney CBD, Darling Harbour, or The Rocks can expect precise collection times confirmed upon booking.

The luxury Blue Mountains itinerary includes a return to Sydney between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM, depending on traffic and seasonal daylight.

Throughout the day, our guides ensure smooth transitions between stops, maintaining a steady but unhurried pace. From morning tea to the final lookout, the Blue Mountains itinerary has been refined to make full use of the day while avoiding peak crowd times at major viewpoints.

Mobility & Accessibility

Our vehicles and tour routes are designed with accessibility in mind. The Blue Mountains luxury day includes comfortable transport with easy boarding and climate control for varying mountain temperatures.

Guests with moderate mobility can enjoy the tour comfortably, as most lookouts and lunch venues require only short walks on paved or graded surfaces. For those who prefer limited walking, alternative viewpoints and rest areas are readily available.

The format suits seniors, couples, and families alike, providing a well-paced experience that balances exploration and comfort.

Scenic World Options (Optional)

While our itineraries focus on remote and crowd-free lookouts, Scenic World remains an optional inclusion for those wishing to experience the Skyway, Cableway, or Railway.

For first-time visitors, this provides a chance to appreciate the Blue Mountains from unique perspectives. However, many guests prefer to dedicate more time to quieter locations and photographic viewpoints.

This flexibility underscores the value of a Blue Mountains private tour. Guests may choose to include or exclude certain attractions to suit their interests, ensuring every journey is personally rewarding.

Weather & Seasons

The Blue Mountains luxury day reveals its beauty differently throughout the year.

  • Autumn and Winter: Crisp air, misty valleys, and vibrant foliage at Mt Tomah Botanic Garden.
  • Spring: Clear skies and mild temperatures, perfect for walking lookouts.
  • Summer: Extended daylight hours and lush scenery are ideal for photography.

Our guides adapt the private Blue Mountains day trip to seasonal variations, adjusting lookouts and routes as needed. In cases of poor visibility or rain, alternative scenic stops ensure that guests still experience memorable views and commentary.

Tour Highlights

Each itinerary follows a complete loop through the region, showcasing the area’s natural beauty and unique landmarks:

  • Calmsley Hill Farm: Begin the day with morning tea and the opportunity to observe kangaroos, koalas, emus, and wombats at this working farm.
  • Remote Lookouts: Visit Eaglehawk Lookout and other secluded sites with panoramic views of the Jamison Valley and the iconic Three Sisters.
  • Hydro Majestic Lunch: Enjoy a two-course lunch with one non-alcoholic beverage in a setting that combines fine dining with remarkable mountain views.
  • Govetts Leap: Witness one of Australia’s most impressive waterfalls and the sweeping Grose Valley.
  • Mt Tomah Botanic Garden: Conclude the luxury Blue Mountains itinerary with stunning floral displays and vistas stretching toward Sydney.

Each location is chosen for its visual appeal, accessibility, and cultural significance. The small-group format ensures that every stop is unhurried, with time for questions, photos, and local insights.
